Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifolia plant. It is well known for its antibacterial, antifungal properties and is used in skincare products and ointments to treat different problems.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is in
concentrated form (15%) and proved to be very effective for blemished and
acne-prone oily skin. The product comes in a small green color glass bottle in
10 ml and 20 ml quantity, the description says suitable for blemished skin 15 %
tea tree oil made in the UK.

60, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil, Limonene, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil,
Citral, Citronellol, Leptospermum Petersonii Oil, Tocopherol.

I have been using this Tea Tree Oil for almost 4years and it has proven very
effective on my sensitive and acne-prone skin. For the very first time I got this tea tree oil from The Body Shop outlet in Centaurus Islamabad for Rs.1490 (10 ml) and recently I bought it for SAR 55 (20 ml) in Dammam from The Body Shop store in Dareen Mall. Making your
own Tea Tree Range
I will tell you how you can use
this single product in many ways and save money by making your own Tea Tree
range for acne and blemished skin.
- You can add some drops in your regular
face wash to calm your skin.
Face mask
- Take 2 tablespoon clay powder (Multani
Matti).
- Add 5-6 drops of tea tree oil.
- Add some rosewater to make a paste.
- Apply on face and leave it for 15 minutes
then wash your face with tap water and pat dry.
Scrub
- Take 1 teaspoon of ground coffee.
- Add 4-5 drops of tea tree oil.
- Half teaspoon of honey.
- Scrub gently on your face and wash with
lukewarm water.
Moisturizer
after Epilation
- Add 3 drops of tea tree oil in aloe vera
gel and apply on skin after waxing or epilation to soothe redness.
Foundation
- Add 6 -7 drops in your foundation to
prevent breakouts.
Antibacterial
- You can use tea tree oil as antiseptic
for gingivitis, nail fungus, wounds, warts and cold sours.
Anti-dandruff
However, if you want you can add
2-3 drops of tea tree oil in carrier coconut oil and massage on the scalp.

- It could make your skin dry, use
moisturizer if you have dry skin.
